Two kind of breadsticks for one tea party: cheese and white-black sesame-sea salt ones

December 21, 2010

My colleague Lida invited us to a tea party at her place! Of course, what happened that evening was more close to just a party rather than to a tea one; it was great! Coffee, tea, sweet and salt delights and a very nice, warm feeling!

Every one brought a little bit of something and I, after my hostess’ demand, made these easy and tasty breadsticks in two versions: one with cheese and another with two kind of sesames –white and black- and sea salt.

We had a great time, we laughed a lot, ate great things and decided to do it more often!

Take a “bite” from the slide show!

 INGREDIENTS

For the cheese breadsticks

  • 1 flaky pastry sheet
  • 5-6 tbsp grained gruyere (I suggest you could taste it with parmesan or any other hard cheese you like)
  • 1 slightly beaten egg

For sesame and sea salt breadsticks (the recipe suggests that you could use poppy seed instead of black sesame)

  • 1 flaky pastry sheet
  • 2 tbsp sesame
  • 2 tbsp black sesame
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 slightly beaten egg

Note: It took me just 1 large  egg for both kind of breadsticks instead of two

DIRECTIONS

With cheese

  1. Preheat the oven at 392ο F and cover a baking sheet with an anti-greasing paper.
  2. Brush the sheet with half of the egg and cut it vertically in half.
  3. Place the cheese all over the half sheet and press it to stick well. Cover it with the other half sheet with the egg brushed side facing the cheese.
  4. Cut at length the double sheet in 1 ½ inch strips and then each strip in half
  5. Hold each strip from its edges, twist it in opposite sides and place it in the baking sheet. Do the same with the rest.
  6. Brush them with the rest of the egg and bake them until golden or for 10-20’ in the middle of your oven

Πρέπει να ήταν όντως ένα όμορφο απόγευμα! Σάντουιτς με αγγουράκι δεν είχατε σαν κάθε παραδοσιακό tea party? Καλές γιορτές Άρτεμης!
